Fundraising
It costs a lot to maintain the scout hut and to purchase and repair equipment, such as tents. As such, in order to financially manage the scout group, we need to raise money through fundraising.
We run a number of fundraising events throughout the year in order to raise some of this money.
You can also help us raise money in other ways with little effort and at absolutely no cost to yourself:
We run a number of fundraising events throughout the year in order to raise some of this money.
You can also help us raise money in other ways with little effort and at absolutely no cost to yourself:
- The Giving Machine – If you shop online through the Giving Machine with shops such as Amazon, CD WOW, Halfords, John Lewis, Play.com, and many many more you can raise money for us without incurring any extra cost to yourself! We get a donation for every purchase you make through the Giving Machine website.
- Sainsbury’s Active Kids – If you shop in Sainsbury’s, or know someone who does, you can bring in the Active Kids vouchers, which can then use to purchase new equipment for the group. In 2008, we got more than 8,000 vouchers. Let’s see if we can beat that this year!
- Gift Aid – Another way that we earn money is through Gift Aid. This is tax relief on donations to charities such as us, through which we can reclaim approximately an extra 28% from all donations made to the group, including subs, with no extra cost to you.
Please help us raise money so that we can continue to offer a high quality Scouting experience.
